XXXVI Annual Convention Peruvian American Medical Society

The Peruvian American Medical Society, Inc. (PAMS) was founded on September 8, 1973 with the purpose of maintaining the Continuing Medical Education of its members and improve the medical, educational and cultural relations between Peru and the United States of North America. PAMS is a Non for Profit Organization. At the present time PAMS dedicates its major effort to HELP PERU and counts with more than 530 active members in North America. This year, the XXXVI Annual Convention will take place at the School of Medicine of the University of San Luis Gonzaga in Ica, Perú, from September 23 to 27, 2009 and will be sponsored by the Colegio Médico del Peru.

Scientific Program: We are working with the University of Illinois College of Medicine to obtain CME’s for this activity.

Lodging: We have reserved 40 rooms at Hotel Las Dunas and 27 rooms at Hotel Mossone. There are other hotels in the area. Please call Ana May Salgado (248) 851-2709 to make reservations. A deposit of $100.00 will be needed for each reservation.

Transportation: There are two bus companies in Lima that travel to Ica, Cruz del Sur, tel in Lima 311-5050 or www.cruzdelsur.com.pe and Transportes Ormeño tel 472-5000 www.grupo-ormeno.com.pe. Both have several departing times.

Medical Missions: There will be Medical Missions to Chincha, Pisco and Contamana around the time of the Convention, try to get involved in one of them. Please contact Dr. Aníbal Zambrano, Dr. Hugo Tapia or Dr. Ronald Mera if interested.

Tours: Optional tours available to Paracas, Nazca, Islas Ballestas.

Registration Fees: Before August 1, 2009:
Member $600.00 Member and Spouse: $750.00 Guests $250.00. Minors under 18 years of age $100.00. Individual activities $50.00 each. There will be a charge of additional $100.00 for registrations after August 1.

Cancellations: Will be accepted until September 1. After this date members will receive a letter of acknowledgement for their registration fees considered as donation to our Endowment Fund, fully deductible according to the law.
